萬桑生於法國加斯科涅朗德省，是天主教神父，創辦遣使會，畢生致力於服務窮人。天主教會在1729年列真福，1737年封聖，是普世景仰的聖人。法語稱聖萬桑，英語謂聖文升。

Vincent was born in France, and is a Catholic priest , founder of Lazarists, devoted his life to serving the poor. Blessed Catholic Church listed in 1729, 1737 canonization, saints are universal admiration. French said the St Vincent, as English said that St. Vincent liters.

聖萬桑寶祿在1581 年 4 月 24 日出生，1585年間，先在聖方濟神父那上學。1596年，在神學院就讀，而在1600年 祝聖司鐸。歷 80整歲，於 1660 年 9 月 27 日在法國巴黎逝世。

St. Vincent de Paul was born on April 24, 1581. Between 1585~1590, Vincent was in the first priest at St. Francis school. In 1596, studying at the seminary , and in 1600 ordained priests . Among 80 years old on September 27, 1660, Vincent died in Paris, France.

Vincent means conquering. 萬桑意征服。

遣使會 C.M. Congregatio Missionis/Congregation of the Mission 遣使會，簡稱CM。即遣使 Vincentians，宣言 Evangelizare pauperibus misit，主要由聖萬桑於1625 年創立。

雷鳴遠 Vincent Lebbe 1877-1940 字振聲，聖名味增爵，本籍比利時，天主教遣使會會士，修會耀漢小兄弟會和德來小姊妹會創始人。於1927年入籍中國，於中日戰爭初期，組織救濟團隊，救治中國平民。

He was captured by the Chinese Communists in 1940 and died later that year.

第一批1926年晉升的6名中國籍主教中，河北安國主教孫德楨 Bishop Mechior Sun 和浙江台州主教胡若山 Bishop Joseph Hu 都是遣使會士。

The first batch of 1926 promoted six Chinese nationals bishops in Hebeig 河北主教孫德楨 Bishop Mechior Sun and Zhejiang 浙江台州主教胡若山 Bishop Bishop Bishop Joseph Hu are Vincentius Fellows.

1949-1952年間，外國傳教士被驅逐出境。多數的中國籍會士都留在大陸，人數約有150位以上。南昌總主教周濟世，由於拒絕擔任愛國會領袖，長期遭監禁，1972年去逝。

Between 1949 and 1952, foreign missionaries were expelled. Most of the Chinese nationals stay in the mainland, the number of about 150 or more.  Archbishop Chou 南昌 總主教周濟世 was refusing to act as leader of the China Patriotic Church, and in long time in prison, died in 1972.

遣使會是中國最重要一個傳教修會，目前遣使會士 仍在台灣正式宣教，在大陸隱藏宣教。
